GUEST REVIEWS
We stayed for one night in a very comfortable room, were welcomed warmly and our hosts very kindly drove us to the nearest pub for supper. Breakfast was also excellent. I can only recommend a stay if you are visiting this beautiful area.

We stayed at Strand Cottage just one night. Our room was upstairs and our friends larger room was in the adjacent cottage towards the rear of the house. Both were comfortable rooms. Bathroom was nice. The breakfast was wonderful. Angela was a very helpful host giving us valuable information about the area. We enjoyed talking with her and had a great conversation and laugh before we departed. Parking was good. They are right on the main road which is very nice and makes it easy to find. Although they are located right on the main road the rooms were quiet. I'd certainly stay there again.

Good location to explore Hadrian's wall and other attractions. Comfortable room, clean and tidy. Breakfast good. Hosts Angela and Mike really helpful on what to see and where to eat. It is on the main road but we didn't hear any road noise.

We stayed for two nights as we did a quick exploration of the sites along Hadrian's wall. It was a relaxing and comfortable place to stay. Angela and her husband were helpful with advice on what not to miss and had good advice on places to eat nearby. Breakfast was as we preferred and was fine. Beautiful scenery all around this home in the countryside. On a busy road but it was quiet and we had no problem sleeping at night.

Lovely accommodation which was separate from the rest of the house, which we really liked. It was very clean, cosy and comfortable and I slept extremely well as my bed was divinely soft! We've never stayed in this part of the country and as we were only staying for one night we left without exploring the area at all. Had we been able, we would have enjoyed exploring the surrounding countryside very much, as it looked lovely. Sadly we left before breakfast was served so can't comment there. Had a very comfortable stay and would have stayed longer if we'd been able!

Very good B & B with very comfortable bed and excellent breakfast in a friendly and welcoming home. Owners do the utmost to make all guests feel at home and there is much of interest locally including excellent walks and visits to the Hadrian's wall and the related museums.. Free Wi Fi was an added bonus. We really enjoyed our stay and plan to visit the area again based on such a positive experience.

We stayed here as our first night stop-off on the Hadrian's Cycleway, unfortunately we did it when the area had the worst winds for 30 years including gusts of 70 mph! We were travelling into the wind so our progress was much slower than we'd originally thought. By 9:30pm we still hadn't arrived and we were stuck in the dark in incredible winds, just as we were wondering how we were ever going to get there the owner turned up in a van and rescued us! Bikes went in the van and he gave us a lift for the last couple of miles. When we got back he even went out and picked our Chinese up for us (local pub doesn't serve food on a Monday night which Angela had told me when I booked). Lovely B&B, excellent breakfast and amazing service.

We really enjoyed our two night stay. A very good central location for quick access to most of Hadrian´s Wall highlights, located right alongside the A 69. A nice convenient and clean accommodation with a very comfortable bed,and a very helpful host Angela, who not only saw to a generous, good breakfast but also had good advice for all points of interest in the area (including food). All area highlights can be viewed on screen in the breakfast room, too.The Strand is clearly outside Bardon Mill, but the Pub (good & cheap) there is only a short walk (partly alongside the A 69) away. Inside the accommodation the traffic on the A 69 was not noticeable at all. We slept very well. We can strongly recommend The Strand.
